How was 2024 financially and industry-wise?
2024 was a very active year, both financially and sectorally. As Toyo Printing Inks, besides maintaining our existing market share, we continued our strategy of expanding into new markets. Increasing demand for sustainable products for liquid inks has become a major trend in the industry. In this context, we witnessed a significant increase in demand for our environmentally friendly and high-performance products.
In a financial sense, global economic fluctuations and changes in local markets affected our plans. However, thanks to our innovative product portfolio and customer-oriented service approach, we achieved our goals to a great extent. Sectorally, we saw a significant increase in the use of liquid inks, especially in the packaging and label segments. Increased awareness of food safety and recycling issues offered new opportunities for the sector. To meet these developments, we focused on our R&D activities.
In 2024, did you witness any changes or increases in your customer portfolio?
2024 was a solid year in terms of both diversification and growth in our customer portfolio. We observed a significant increase in demand, especially from companies operating in the field of packaging for food, beverages and cleaning products. Rising interest in recyclability, food safety and environmentally friendly production standards contributed to expanding our customer portfolio in the liquid inks segment. Additionally, the launch of our new factory in Manisa in 2025 will increase our production capacity. This development will allow us to provide faster solutions to our existing customers and serve new customers.
What are the expectations for 2025? Which topics are on the agenda?
2025 will be a year that we at Toyo Printing Inks welcome with great ambitions in terms of growth and innovation. With the launch of our new factory, we will be able to serve a wider customer base in both local and international markets. We will start producing the Lamination Adhesive, which we have been supplying from Japan, in our new factory. This is an exciting development for us, and it will enable us to serve more customers as well as increase our market share.
Our 2025 agenda will prioritize sustainability, operational efficiency, digitalization and international growth. We will continue to contribute to our customers' sustainability goals by expanding our eco-friendly and recyclable ink portfolio, thanks to our sustainability-oriented solutions. We aim to increase our operational efficiency by shifting to faster and more flexible production processes in line with the opportunities offered by our factory.
Furthermore, we plan to use technology at the highest level in all business operations, from production to customer services, by accelerating digitalisation and technological investments. On the other hand, in the global markets, we aim to take a stronger position with our artience brand and increase our export volume by acquiring new customers.
Are there any studies on new products or investments?
Our R&D efforts are continuing to develop innovative products focused on sustainability. In addition to our already-existing product groups, we are developing specialized products for mono-material and mono-layer packaging structures in tune with the recyclability trend.
In 2025, with the launch of our new factory in Manisa, our R&D Center, where new generation test printing devices will be available, will be approximately four times the size of our current R&D Center. This modern facility will enable more efficient production processes by moving our R&D and P&D activities forward and will allow us to offer innovative solutions to our customers.
Are you looking for markets or suppliers for 2025?
In terms of discovering new markets and strengthening strategic supplier collaborations, 2025 holds important targets for Toyo Printing Inks. As part of our export-oriented growth strategy, we plan to develop new customers and collaborations, especially in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. On the supplier side, we prioritize working with suppliers that have adopted an innovative and environmentally friendly production concept. By strengthening our partnerships with both local and international suppliers, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our processes and optimize our production costs.
